Math lessons during the second semester are usually 1 hour once (or twice) a week from Monday to Thursday and 1.5 hours once or twice each weekend from Friday to Sunday. Some weekend lessons are longer if you are preparing for an exam for the following week. Primarily during the week, I will prepare you for the next lessons until I meet with you again. On the weekend, I prepare students for the upcoming week or for upcoming exams. Most students come to 2 or 3 lessons a week. When the math gets harder or as necessary, some students may come more often to lessons.

Second semester math is often more difficult than first semester. A thorough understanding of semester one math is necessary for many chapters in semester 2. Some semester one material may be covered in the previous year’s math text book. This is less so for semester 2. In this prep course, I will follow your math textbook and your homework assigned in your classroom. I will generally work ahead of your teacher so that you will understand the material before it is presented in the classroom. I will review math content as necessary from semester one material as necessary for semester 2 math success. Problems will be added in from other resource material as needed to aid mastery.

Lee Academics Semester 2 math prep course includes:

  • Up to 3 one hour or 1.5 hours instructional lessons a week (some weeks may be up to 4 lessons as needed)
  • Many practice exams/materials from Lee Academics resources for your math class. Students are encouraged to work on these before or after your instructional lesson. Be sure to bring up your questions during math lessons.
  • Strategies for doing math problems faster, allowing more time to do hard math problems on the test Lee Academics semester 2 math prep will cover:
  • Current math chapter/lessons at school during the week days and work ahead as time permits
  • Work ahead to cover future math lessons within the chapter during the weekends or working on the next chapter after a chapter exam during the week.
  • Past math chapters during the weekends as necessary to understand the current chapter
  • Semester one math concepts as necessary for success in the current chapter/lesson. It may be difficult to do some math problems without mastery in some semester one topics. Some semester one concepts span many chapters and are critical for math success in semester 2.
  • Spring break math review – This will help prepare you for spring standardized testing at school. Spring break is also a good time to review concepts for finals.
  • Multiple choice semester 2 finals prep – Many semester 2 math finals are multiple choice and require a different skill set than free response questions. Some semester 2 finals include math concepts from the entire book.
