Geometry lessons during the school year are usually 1 hour once (or twice) a week from Monday to Thursday and 1.5 hours once or twice each weekend from Friday to Sunday. Some weekend lessons are longer if you are preparing for an exam for the following week. Primarily during the week, I will prepare you for the next lessons until I meet with you again. On the weekend,
I prepare students for the upcoming week or for upcoming exams. Most students come to 2 or 3 lessons a week. When the math gets harder or as necessary, some students may come more often to lessons.

Lee Academics geometry prep course includes:

  • Up to 3 1-hour instructional lessons a week (some weeks may be up to 4 lessons as needed)
  • many practice exams/materials from Lee Academics resources for your current geometry book and from former geometry books from your school. These can be worked on before or after your instructional lesson. I will go over your mistakes.
  • Strategies for doing geometry problems faster, allowing more time to do hard geometry problems on the test Lee Academics geometry prep course will cover:
  • Current geometry chapter/lessons at school during the week days
  • Work ahead to cover future geometry lessons within the chapter during the weekends or working on the next chapter after a chapter exam during the week.
  • Past geometry chapters during the weekends are necessary to understand the current chapter
  • Algebra 1 as necessary for success in the current geometry chapter/lesson – The Common Core algebra 1 book is not as comprehensive as a traditional algebra 1 book. Students using this book will not learn a full year of traditional algebra 1. It will be difficult to move into the algebra 2 book without full algebra 1 knowledge. Some algebra 1 concepts are essential for geometry.
  • Geometry has many theorems. Many students find it difficult to memorize so many theorems. Some theorems from
earlier chapters needed for the later chapters as well. I will show students how to connect theorems together.
  • Probability and data analysis – There are probability and data analysis units in many common core books, including
    some precalculus books.
  • Finals prep of most of the geometry book as needed for the January and June finals

The SAT exam contains 10% geometry, ACT 20%. Some geometry is necessary for algebra 2, precalculus and calculus. Algebra 2/precalculus/calculus students often struggle to remember geometry concepts and formulas. Some geometry concepts are also necessary for the AP calculus AB and AP calculus BC exams.
