College Admissions Counseling
College Consulting by Scott Nicholson at Lee Academics:
I’ve been in the business of getting students into top-tier universities for seventeen years and I’ve polished my storytelling skills by writing three thousand words a day for the last decade. My students have been admitted to Oxford, numerous Ivies, and most of the other top 20 schools. More than that, I know how difficult it is to distill the essence of your life to paper. How do you take seventeen or eighteen years of experience and condense them into a 650 word personal statement? How do you use your supplementary essays to portray yourself as a student that admissions officers have to admit? How do you apply to fifteen universities, keep up with your senior year grades, and find time to put the final polish on your extracurricular activities? I can tell you how to connect your love for Taekwondo with the NGO you founded to help cure cataracts in rural India. I can help you weave together that childhood fantasy that you’re the reincarnation of your grandmother with why you teach a regional style of Indian singing. I know how to craft a compelling personal narrative that extends from the personal statement to every other facet of your application, and I know how to get you into a top tier school.
What you’ll get:
- One or two highly polished 650 word personal statements that highlight the best aspects of your personality and resume.
- All four UC essays.
- Complete applications for six additional universities, including 3 supplements and all
- short answer essays of 100 words or fewer, with some leeway. (If you are not in
- California, you may add up to three non-UC universities.)
- Resume review.
- Extracurricular activities review.
- Comprehensive developmental and line editing.
- A distinct voice that will pop from the page.
- Guidance on which universities to select and what major to choose.
- A billion drafts.
- Weekly Zoom meetings and online correspondence via email or Google Docs until
You’ve sent out your last application. If you apply to all 9 UC campuses and 6 additional universities, that’s fifteen schools! If you want to apply to more, I’m available to edit more essays for a fee, but don’t worry. By the time we’re done, you should have plenty of high-quality supplemental essays that you can adapt for nearly any prompt.
As many of my former students can attest, I don’t do things halfway. When I don’t think my novels work, I’m not afraid to tear down months of work and start from scratch. If I don’t think your essays work, I’ll put in the hours until they do.
Don’t try to tackle the daunting college admissions process on your own—admissions get more competitive each year. Let me help you craft a distinct voice. You won’t be disappointed.*
